The exhibition centers on the theme “Coins Carry Millennia of Civilization, Pandas Convey Friendship”, using pandas as a cultural bridge and precious metal currency as an artistic medium, building a connection between tradition and modernity, finance and culture, China and the world. The exhibition also complements the upcoming special exhibition at the Chengdu Museum, “Golden Threads: Fashion of Gold Garments from North Africa to East Asia”, which will open to the public for free on November 30. Together, the two gold-themed exhibitions present a cultural feast for visitors.

The exhibition features 113 panda-themed precious metal coins from different years and themes, including all panda coins issued from 1982 to 2025, as well as the 2026 edition. These coins not only showcase the adorable charm of pandas, but also reflect the high level of Chinese minting craftsmanship through meticulous engraving, highlighting the unique aesthetic value and cultural significance of panda coins.

These sections guide visitors through a clear pathway that traces the evolution of currency civilization.
The Chengdu Museum section also features several immersive interactive experiences. The entrance includes a "Time Tunnel" passageway adorned with light boxes showcasing various coins and floor stickers in the shape of coins. The viewing area continuously screens thematic films about commemorative coins, allowing visitors to learn more about the creative stories behind these precious metal coins while resting.
