OnMed Launches Cutting-Edge CareStation at Overtown Youth Center, Expanding Healthcare Access in Miami Community

Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony to Mark a Milestone in Healthcare Access and Innovation

OnMed, the premier tech-enabled hybrid care company, is proud to announce the launch of its state-of-the-art OnMed CareStation at the Overtown Youth Center (OYC) in Miami. This milestone marks a significant step toward bringing high-quality, on-demand medical care to the community, reinforcing the message that top-tier healthcare belongs everywhere—not just in affluent areas.

The official ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 10:00 AM ET at OYC Miami, 450 NW 14th St, Miami, FL. The event will feature remarks from OnMed President Howard Gruverman, OYC CEO Tina Brown, and NBA Hall-of-Famer and OYC Founder, Alonzo Mourning.

Additional notable guests include Mayor of Miami-Dade County Daniella Levine Cava, Superintendent of Miami-Dade public schools Jose Dotres, and President & CEO of United Way Miami Symeria Hudson.

OnMed’s partnership with OYC Miami, first announced in July 2024, reflects a shared mission to break barriers in healthcare access and serve communities that are often overlooked. The OnMed CareStation offers private, real-time video consultations with licensed medical professionals and is equipped with advanced diagnostic tools, including thermal imaging, real-time scans, and remote vital signs monitoring.

Tina Brown, CEO of OYC Miami, emphasized the importance of this initiative. "The OnMed CareStation has been a key addition to OYC Miami's wrap-around community service offerings. This is more than just a ribbon-cutting; it's a statement that top-tier innovation belongs everywhere, for everyone. The CareStation is a game-changer for our youth and families, offering immediate, accessible medical care where it's needed most."

OnMed CEO, Karthik Ganesh adds, “The OnMed CareStation is a beaming example of how technology and innovation in healthcare can successfully meet the needs of underserved communities across America. Tech for tech's sake in healthcare has never worked, so the CareStation blends the latest health technology with the comfort and connection of an in-person doctor’s visit—a winning combination.”
